DRAM NewsQuicktime Streaming Issue and SolutionPosted on Friday, February 08, 2008SolutionApple has just released a Quicktime update that resolves the streaming issues raised with v. 7.4.1. You can download the new version (v7.4.5) at the following URL's: For Windows: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/quicktime745forwindows.html IssueThere is a bug in two recent Quicktime plug-ins, versions 7.2 and 7.4.1. With these versions of, DRAM participants may find themselves unable to stream music from DRAM, or their browsers may crash after closing their pop-up player window. If you exerience difficulty streaming music from DRAM, first, please check your Quicktime version. If it is not v. 7.2 or 7.4.1, please check your Quicktime preferences as detailed here http://www.dramonline.org/page/help to make sure that they are set correctly. If you do have v.7.2 or 7.4.1, and immediate access is important to you, you can download version 7.3.1 here, which we know to work. If immediate access is not important, please wait. We expect that a new update will be released before long to address this problem, as it is no doubt effecting users of many online resources, not just DRAM. You can visit a thread on the Apple website to follow a discussion of the problem, which will hopefully lead Apple to address it sooner rather than later. We regret that this problem is beyond our control. We're happy to answer any questions via e-mail at answers@dramonline.org, and we'll post any updates concerning this issue here. All best, DRAM |
