Public Library Classifications and Fees

Public libraries are an important community to DRAM, as they represent a natural extension of our mission to provide the broadest access to DRAM's content possible, and because they serve the needs of scholars and music lovers who may not be affiliated with an academic institution participating Participating in DRAM.

In order to determine a library's classification, DRAM is indebted to the public library classification system developed by JSTOR together with the public library community. Our goal in drawing upon this system is to make classifications based upon fair and comprehensive criteria that take into consideration the varied missions public libraries fulfill, while also considering the value that DRAM participation could bring to each institution.

In order to determine the DRAM classification for any public library, we consider the following three factors:
  1. Population Served - the total population of the area served by the library, according to the most recent statistics
  2. Library Materials Budget - the budget for library acquisitions
  3. Periodicals - the number of active serial subscriptions

Public Library DRAM Classifications and Fees are as Follows

       Medium.........................600.00 per year
